Facilitator Training

Overview

This training is for therapists, counsellors, coaches, health care practitioners and anyone working in the area of personal growth and development. It provides a comprehensive grounding in the theory and practice of Voice Dialogue, The Psychology of Selves and the Aware Ego Process. At the end of the training participants will have a powerful new tool that will complement their practice and enhance their ability to help clients achieve more balance in their lives.

The training is experiential and process oriented and based on the ancient wisdom: “I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand.”

Structure

The training includes 5 weekend workshops spaced over 9 months. Each workshop will focus on the theory and practice of Voice Dialogue and its application to a range of client issues.

In addition, over the course of the training, participants will receive a total of 6 personal 90-minute facilitations from the trainers (face to face or via skype), and will be expected to complete a minimum of 20 practice sessions with other members of the group.

Video conferencing facilities will be available so that the group can stay connected at distance.

There will be required reading and listening throughout the program.

Certificates of attendance are available for CPD.

Weekend 1 (Introductory Weekend):  The Basics

  • Theoretical background to Voice Dialogue
  • Origin and function of Primary selves
  • Becoming conscious of Disowned selves
  • Introduction to the Aware Ego Process

  • Mapping the selves
  • Supervised facilitation

Weekend 2:  Voice Dialogue and Relationships

  • The dance of selves in relationship
  • Positive and negative bonding patterns
  • The three aspects of conflict
  • Handling underlying vulnerabilities
  • Introduction to energetics
  • Centering and grounding techniques
  • Supervised facilitation
  • Personal feedback

Weekend 3:  Voice Dialogue and Self-esteem

  • The role of the Inner Critic in the psyche
  • Working creatively with the Inner Critic
  • The lessons inherent in judgement
  • Handling guilt and shame
  • Working with addictions
  • Energetics exercises for clients
  • Supervised facilitation
  • Personal feedback

Weekend 4:  Dreams and Physical Symptoms

  • Dialoguing with the selves in dreams
  • Understanding dream themes and motifs
  • Working with fantasies
  • Communicating with the body
  • Dialoguing with the self behind the symptom
  • Advanced energetics
  • Supervised facilitation
  • Personal feedback

Weekend 5:  The New Tool in the Box

  • Adding Voice Dialogue to your existing practice
  • Selves awareness and empowerment
  • Impact of Voice Dialogue on health and wellbeing
  • Voice Dialogue as a psycho-spiritual practice
  • Peer demonstrations
  • Supervised facilitation
  • Personal feedback
  • Action planning: the next steps

 

Group size

To ensure maximum personal attention and focus the group will be limited to 8 participants with two trainers.

Location

The weekend workshops will take place at John’s home in Kew, West London.

Dates and times

The weekend workshops take place from 10am – 6pm each day. Dates are decided by the group after the Introductory Workshop.

Cost

Rate for 2012, £2,800 per person.

Course fee includes 5 weekend workshops (10 days training), 6 private 90-minute facilitations, video conferencing and all course materials.  A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of £500 is required to guarantee your place with the balance payable 1 month before the course begins.

Introductory Weekend

This weekend workshop is for anyone interested in getting an overview of the Facilitator Training. The content will cover the basics of Voice Dialogue and will be the same as Week 1 of the full training (opposite).

The fee for the workshop is £350. Participants who go on to register for the 9-month training will have this amount deducted from the full training fee.

The Introductory Weekend will take place in West London on the above date.
